Whether you are new to acupuncture or just starting anew, the information below will help you to prepare for your first appointment.

Your first appointment
The initial acupuncture consultation and treatment is 75–90 minutes, allowing time to review your intake in detail. Follow-up appointments are 50 minutes. Please note this is slightly different for Healing Beauty appointments.
After booking your first appointment, you will receive an intake form by email. Please complete this prior to your visit.
During your first session, we will review your intake together—discussing your primary reason for seeking treatment, as well as your overall health, wellness, and lifestyle. In Chinese Medicine, assessment considers the whole person, allowing us to look more broadly and understand patterns more deeply.
A credit card is required on file to hold all appointments. In accordance with the cancellation policy, missed appointments without appropriate notice will be charged the full cost of the treatment.
How to prepare for your first appointment
Treatments work with your body’s own ability to regulate and heal itself so preparation makes you your own ally.
Please make sure you have had food within two hours of treatment. I do not recommend a large meal as it will absorb the body’s energy and attention. However, I want your body to be grounded - preventing lightheadedness, fainting, or fatigue.
Please come hydrated. But also keep in mind that you will be on the table for about 45 minutes.
Please DO NOT consume alcohol or recreational drugs prior to treatment. This does not include prescription medication.
I recommend dressing comfortably for treatment with loose clothing. Patients sometimes opt to bring shorts and a tank top for sessions. Other times, people may stay in their street clothes or chose to take them off. Regardless, every patient will be appropriately draped.
These same recommendations apply to both CranioSacral and Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatments.

I am out-of network provider. Out-of-network benefits vary between policies.
